Icarus brings adjustments to Permadeath with “Insurance”
At the beginning of last month, RocketWerkz released the Icarus survival game. There is a challenge inherent in survival games, but apparently, this game was a little too ruthless. Even after a patch that allowed players to find their corpses more easily, the developers have decided to lighten the weight of death a little.
At the end of last week, RocketWerkz released an update that has simplified the permanent death function. The basic point of the game is to land on a hostile planet, to survive, to gather resources and return to the drop-ship before it leaves. If he leaves without you, you are dead. More luck next time.
In the new Icarus update, it will not always be the case. Some missions will now have insurance. In these missions, even if you do not go back to the drop-ship on time, your character will return to the had.
Of course, there will always be players who will complain that developers make things too easy or CED to occasional demography. Developers intend to make more changes in the future, so it can be part of a long-term balancing exercise.
On the front of more difficult options, this same patch has added extreme difficulty to certain missions. Big shot: Stockpile and Station-to-Station: Extended Survey Mission Types will now have hardcore and regular options. Icarus is now available for PC.
